Everyone at the club should be able to follow a draw — who is playing, who won, what court, what time — however they use a phone or a computer. This page says where we actually stand, including the parts we have not solved.

What works

Screen readers

Pages are built from real headings, landmarks, lists and tables, and every button, link and form field carries a label, so VoiceOver and NVDA can read a page in a sensible order and jump around it instead of guessing.

Keyboard

The whole site works from the keyboard alone — Tab and Shift+Tab to move, Enter or Space to activate, Escape to close. Nothing is mouse-only and nothing traps your focus.

Visible focus

Whatever you are on is outlined clearly, so you never lose your place while tabbing. We do not strip focus rings to make a page look tidier.

Bigger text

Text scales to 200% — browser zoom, pinch-zoom, or your device’s larger-text setting — and the layout reflows instead of clipping or overlapping.

Contrast and colour

We target WCAG AA contrast for text and controls. Nothing important is signalled by colour alone: a win, a walkover, a seeded entry and a live match all carry text or a shape as well.

Reduced motion

If you have turned on “Reduce Motion” in your system settings we honour it — transitions and animated effects are cut back or turned off.

Where we fall short

Three honest limits, so nobody is surprised:

• A full draw is a wide grid. On a phone, a large bracket scrolls sideways inside its own box. It is readable and it is reachable by keyboard, but it is not as comfortable as the rest of the site, and a screen reader reads it round by round rather than as one picture.
• Captions on match video are automatic, not written by us. Video is hosted on YouTube, so the captions are YouTube’s automatic ones. They are useful, and they get names and calls wrong.
• There is no audio description. If you cannot see the video, the picture is not described for you. The written draw and the posted score are the accessible version of a match today.
